Arterial Loop Assessment
In May 2010, the Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) initiated the Transportation System Alternatives (TSA) Study for the Greater Idaho Falls metropolitan area. The purpose of the study was to examine the short-, medium- and long-term transportation investments needed to meet the area’s vision for economic development and quality of life and to explore alternative ways to address those needs. The study was initiated to support an update of the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the area which is designed to address transportation investment decisions through the year 2035. The summary provides the conclusions of the TSA Study and the recommendations it has made for the LRTP.
The Idaho Falls Arterial Loop Assessment identifies the economic impacts of the Idaho Falls Arterial Loop Project. In particular, this analysis expands on the Bonneville MPO’s Transportation Systems Alternatives (TSA) Study where the Arterial Loop Project was originally assessed.
