BMPO encourages non-motorized transportation and the development of facilities such as bikeways and pedestrian walks, as well as education and encouragement programs which will increase social awareness of non-motorized travel.  Efforts are made to improve overall conditions for bicyclists and pedestrians and provide opportunities to use non-motorized forms of travel in a safe and accessible manner.

Register Bicycles for Free

The Idaho Falls Police Department is encouraging all bicycle owners to take advantage in registering their bicycles free of charge.

All three main bike shops in Idaho Falls will register your bike for free. You can contact or visit Bill’s Bike Shop, 930 Pier View Dr., 522-3341, Alpine Schwinn Cyclery, 1352 S. Holmes Ave., 523-1226, and Idaho Mountain Trading, 474 Shoup Ave., 523-6679.

You can also log on to the Idaho Falls Police Department website at http://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/city/city-departments/police-department.html, then on the left side, click on “Bicycle Registration” and print off the registration form, then fill in the information requested, and stop by any of the bike shops noted above, or at the Idaho Falls Police Department, at the address shown on the registration form.
