The Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) is an agency designated by the Governor of Idaho to conduct a continuing, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process in the urbanized area under the direction of elected officials from the Cities of Ammon, Idaho Falls, Iona, Ucon, and the urbanized portions of Bonneville County, and Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority (TRPTA), in conjunction with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD). Under the requirements of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA), BMPO has the responsibility to develop an annual Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the urbanized area.
The BMPO’s TIP is a short range five-year program of highway and transit projects for the Bonneville Metropolitan Area. It is a compilation of projects from various Federal, State and local funding programs. The TIP is fiscally constrained which means the funding source for a project must be identified and anticipated to be available for completion of the project.
The proposed FY 2020 TIP will be available to the public for review during normal business hours (M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) at the BMPO office located at 1810 W. Broadway, Suite 15 in Idaho Falls. The document can also be viewed on the BMPO website: www.bmpo.org. Comments will be taken from July 8, 2019 through August 6, 2019. This publication specifically satisfies the Federal Transit Administration’s Program of Projects requirements.
The proposed FY 2020 TIP will be the final program unless amended.
